Obituary of Roberta Lynn Korchanik

Roberta "Bert" Lynn Korchanik of Mountaindale passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 58. She was the daughter of the late Nathan R. and Yvonne Long Porter, born on July 2, 1956 in Salem, NJ. Bert was a huge fan of John Wayne and her passion was horses. She was a former member of the Mountaindale First Aid and Rescue. In her free time she loved to spend time with her family and her dogs. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to all that knew and loved her; she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Joseph Korchanik, her daughter Vicki Korchanik, her canine companion She-Ra, four sisters and two brothers and a host of friends and family. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 6-8:00pm. A funeral service will follow at the funeral at 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Bert's name can be made to the Mountaindale Fire Department or Mountaindale First Aid and Rescue Main Street, Mountaindale, NY 12763.
