Obituary of Werner Maluta

Werner Maluta of Mountaindale passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at home. He was 72. He was the son of the late Peter and Maria Lindlbauer Maluta, born in Salzburg, Austria. In his younger years Werner was a lifeguard at the Pines Hotel as well as a water safety instructor and member of the P.A.D.I. He always was willing to lend a helping hand and found joy in donating his time helping the Red Cross. He was a true outdoorsman. He learned to ski at the age of 50, found enjoyment in hiking, body building and all around physical fitness. Above everything else he loved animals and was a true animal activist. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Jodi McKenna and her husband Robert, his grandchildren Shana, Scott, James, Taylor, and Joseph, his great grandchildren Hudson and Logan, his longtime companion Cynthia Kirtack-Tyler, his trusted cat companion Jack and all of his extended family. He was predeceased by all of his animal companions Genny, Muggsie #1, MugSee #2, Alfie and Jake. Memorial Visitation will be on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 1-3:00pm. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2:30pm. with Pastor Walter Haff officiating.
