Donna and Family: So sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend Hans (Junior) Leland. He was truly a great guy who I considered one of my best friends growing up. We spent many terrific days together from the time we were young whipper snappers on Oak Ridge and in elementary through high school and beyond. We thrived on common interests and the days we spent together are remembered fondly. Our heartfelt sympathy to you and the family as Joan and I know he will really be missed.

My heartfelt sympathies go to the family of my friend 'Junior'. I so enjoyed breaking bread with him at the reunion. He stood tall in his shoes and was one of the few I could look straight in the eye. It's a loss for all of us.

My deepest sympathy to Donna and all of Hans’ family. We were classmates in Ellenville School and were graduated in 1960 and what a wonderful, exceptional group of students that was. My heart has lost another “notch” with the passing of this beloved classmate!
At our 55th class reunion Hans entertained us with his jokes and brightened the room with his smile. He will be greatly missed at our next reunion in 2020!

I was so saddened to hear about Uncle Hans. He was one of the nicest people I've known, and I feel lucky to have had him be a part of my family and life for many years. Sending my love, prayers and hugs to Aunt Donna, and the rest of the Leland family. May he rest in peace.

Hans took such joy in making people laugh. He was also one of the most warm-hearted people I have the deepest gratitude to have known. At his 60th birthday, I came into his house anxious and knowing no one. The Man of the Hour got up from his chair as Arne introduced me, walked over and gave me the biggest bear hug in existence. Only he could offer that comforting a welcome. Rest in peace, Uncle Hans. We'll all miss how you made us laugh and always feel welcome and loved. We will all miss you.
