Obituary of John Rexford
John Farley Rexford, 60, of Hasbrouck, NY, died Tuesday, November 13th in Frankfurt, Germany. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease and Motor Neuron Disease (MND).
He was the youngest son to Virginia E Rexford and the late Leo N. Rexford. He was born April 5, 1958 in Liberty, NY,
He graduated from Tri-Valley in 1976. He was a United States Coast Guard veteran, a US Diplomat, Attaché, Foreign Service Officer, Facilities Manager for US Embassies and US Consulates globally. He had 20 years of distinguished US Federal Government service.
John was a proud father, a sailor by blood, an engineer by study, an outdoorsman by nature, enjoyed golf, and was a born leader. On September 11, 2001 he safely led his entire team out of The World Trade Center. It was that experience that led him to want to serve his country further. He managed facilities in several overseas locations. He was a team member for Habitat for Humanity in foreign countries where he worked in US Embassies helping out with housing projects, school builds and school renovations.
He leaves behind his wife, Bella Rexford, his three sons, Apollo Rexford, Amani Rexford, and Ahadi Rexford, his daughter, Alesia Kuratnick and her husband Michael Kuratnick, his mother Virginia E. Rexford, his four granddaughters, Emma Rexford, Ailey Rexford, Arianna Kuratnick, and Kylie Kuratnick. He also has several nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his brother, Leo Rexford, III, sister, Francine Rexford, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10a on Monday, November 26th at Immaculate Conception Church.
