Obituary of Philip Bluestein
Philip Denis Bluestein, 67, of the SullivanArc Alport Residence in South Fallsburg NY, passed on the afternoon of Sunday, January 7th at the Catskill Regional Medical Center. Born on August 11th 1950 to Martha Hein Bluestein and Leonard Bluestein (deceased) in Manhattan, NY; he is survived by his loving sister Carole Neville and niece Morgan Neville as well as many friends and devoted staff, managers and directors from his home. Phil also had the advantage of the dedicated and compassionate advocacy of his C.A.B. representative, Sheila Barry and his M.S.C. Annmarie Taylor-Hardy.
Phil was fortunate to retire in 2016 and enjoyed filling his leisurely days with crafting, dining out, especially at McDonalds and Burger King, bowling, singing, dancing and listening to music; his favorite being Michael Jackson.
Though no longer required to work, Phil was known to enjoy caring for his home and could often be found with a broom in his hand. Phil was quick to flash a smile and just as quick to let you know when he'd prefer to be left along. He enjoyed the company of his preferred staff and truly loved his former staff, Mary.
Visitation for Philip will be at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne NY 12788 on Thursday, January 11th from 10 AM to 11AM with Services to follow immediately. Rev. Walter Haff will officiate.
On Behalf of Philip, the following excerpt from the poem "life is but a stopping place" is offered to all of those that made this place along the road the very best it could be for our friend. "Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be, a resting place along the road to sweet eternity."
