Obituary of Frederick Anthony Puglisi

Frederick Anthony "Freddie" Puglisi of Grahamsville peacefully passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at home, surrounded by his family. He was 81. He was the son of the late Rocco Puglisi and Angelina Paciello, born on December 27, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY. Freddie worked as a carpenter and in maintenance for New York City Housing Authority. For many years you could find Freddie at Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbourne as a communicant and usher. In his free time Freddie also enjoyed working with his hands as a cabinet maker, painting or making stained glass, or being outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband to Emma for 59 blissful years. He was a father who was adored by his six children and their spouses, as well as a wonderful grandfather to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During his lifetime he touched many people with his love and kindness. He will be greatly missed by all. May he be at peace in his Heavenly Home. He is survived by his devoted wife, Emma; children: Deborah Terruso and her husband, Douglas of Pennsylvania, Carolyn DiFalco and her husband, Ralph of Staten Island, Frederick Puglisi Jr. of Louisiana, Anthony Puglisi, Marleen Santoro and her husband, Joseph of Port Jervis and Danielle Lane and her husband, Daniel of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Francis Puglisi and his wife, Janet of Brooklyn. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, January 7th and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, January 8th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9th at Immaculate Conception Church, 6317 Route 42, Woodbourne, NY 12788. Father John Lynch will officiate. Burial will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.
