Obituary of Charles L Beckley
Charles L. Beckley, Jr of Liberty, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 69.
He was the son of the late Charles L Beckley Sr. and Gladys Gann, born on August 31, 1948 in New Jersey.
Charles proudly served our country in the US Army National Guard from 1972 to 1976. Charles worked as a salesman for his family's business Beckley Bedding. In his free time he enjoyed being out in nature, he was an avid sportsman and loved animals. He was also a member of the NRA and Boy Scouts of America. He was a loving husband, father, poppy, brother and friend to all who knew him, he will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 40 years, Margaret; his children: Amy Hinkley and her husband CC and Martin Decker and his wife Dawn Atkins; his 3 grandchildren: Clarence, Martin and Josh; his siblings Susan Abbott and her husband Brian and John Beckley and his wife Linda; his two best friends Charlie Decker & Al Jackson, who were always around to help Charles and to check in on him; his sibling-in-laws: Denise and Al Jackson, Barbara and Lenny Decker, Mary Milligan and Tom Butler, Eileen and Kevin Opolin, Susie Gormley, George and Joyce Weaver and Rickie and Shirley Weaver; as well as several nieces and nephews. And personal friends who are always there for the family, Marie & Christina Frunzi and their daughter Allison.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 6pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
