Obituary of Betty Jean Eller
Betty Jean Eller, of Livingston Manor, passed away on Saturday, November 04, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 83.
She was the daughter of the late Perry Smith and Ethel Tate Smith, born on March 27, 1934 in Coker Creek, TN.
Betty grew up as one of twelve children in her family's household during the depression in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. She was a hard working woman who was extremely independent. Betty loved her family dearly and truly enjoyed staying home to raise them. In her free time she was an avid reader, liked working around the house and garden and being involved in the church, being a member of both the Willowemoc Baptist Church and the Altoona Baptist Church. She was a devout Christian whose beliefs ran deep. But above all else she was devoted to her family, she loved spending time with her sons, daughters and grandchildren at sporting events and special family gatherings. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
She is survived by her children: Gilbert Wayne and his wife Ginger, Brian and his wife Laura; her grandchildren Ian, Ryan, Dylan and Shelby Eller; sisters Susie Stephenson and Louise Pathoulas; as well as several nieces and nephews. She now joins in Heaven her loving and devoted husband Gilbert Eller who predeceased her in 1993.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9p on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. Burial will take place in Betty's hometown of Coker Creek, TN at Altoona Baptist Church Cemetery.
