Obituary of Charles Embrey

Charles "Chucky" Embrey, 62 of the Sullivan Arc Old Monticello IRA in Ferndale, NY passed away after a short illness on October 31, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center.

Chucky, as he loved to be called, was born on the 4th of July, 1955 in South Fallsburg, NY to Paul Embrey and Jean Pappas. Chucky came to SullivanArc at age 18 where he made many lifelong friends who consider him a special party of their extended family. Chucky will always be remembered for his love of his country and everything American. He had a passion for American flags, marching bands, and most of all parades. Some of the fondest memories his family has are of marching in parades and waving the flag with him. One of his greatest joys was watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade each year. Chucky leaves behind many friends and he never failed to refer to each of them as "My Friend".

Chucky is survived by his sister, Nancy Malave and his nieces and nephews: Tashanda Malave, Gail Gattling, Dionisia Malave, Aida Dunn, Edna Iapidus, Nancy Rivera, Peter Embrey, Ramon Malave and Tiffany Malave as well as his longtime advocate, Donna Hilliard. He is predeceased by Paul Embrey and Melenia Malave as well as his sister Eileen Colan

His family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to all that loved and cared for Chucky at SullivanArc as well as the Doctors and Nurses who took care of him at Catskill Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 10 to 11am at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne, NY, with Walter Haff officiating services following immediately. Chucky will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery immediately following services.
