Obituary of Marvin "Mike" Joseph Bertholf Jr.

Marvin "Mike" Joseph Bertholf Jr. of Woodbourne, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Montefiore Hospital. He was 74.

He was the son of the late Marvin J. Sr. and Florence Woehl Bertholf, born on February 24, 1943 in Livingston Manor, NY.

For many years Mike was a truck driver and most recently he was driving for Deckelman Trucking. He was a past member of the Neversink Fire Dept., and Liberty Fire Dept. as well as the Liberty Rescue Dive Team. In his free time he enjoyed working on cars, welding or fabricating. He liked being in nature and would often help Ellen in her garden. He would be found relaxing on the back deck or watching MASH or the Andy Griffith Show. Above everything else he loved being around his family and grandchildren, he will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife Ellen Bertholf, his son Marvin J. Bertholf III, his grandchildren Marvin (Heather) Bertholf IV, Zachary(Ali) Bertholf, his siblings Bill (Lois), Bob (Pasty), Pete (Doreen), David (Julie), Don (Janet), Edie (Lynn) McArthur, Diane (Mike) Mott, his mother and father in law Raymond and Thelma Cole, brother and sister in laws Michael (Lori) Cole, Wendy Cole, and Lorraine (Tom) Dolgas. He was predeceased by his sons Chad and Kurt Bertholf, granddaughter Kassidy, great granddaughter Kimberlynn, his siblings Patty and Danny Bertholf.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 form 2-4:00pm and 7-9:00pm. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the funeral home at 11:00am. Rev. Carl Caskey will officiate. Interment will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.
