Obituary of Barbara J Mahnken

Barbara J. Mahnken, of Mechanicsville, VA formerly of Grahamsville, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017. She was 78. She was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Lena F. Turner Krum, born on November 18, 1938 in Liberty, NY. Barbara worked for many years running the family store, Krum's Store, which was in the family for over 100 years. She was a devoted mother, who truly enjoyed caring for her family; she also had a love for animals, both domestic and wild, taking in and nurturing them to health. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children Scott Mahnken (Daughter-in-law Robin) and Todd Mahnken (Daughter-in-law Nicole) and Stacey Mahnken Engels (Son-in-law Chris) ; her three grandchildren; and her brother James Krum. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11am at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery. Rev. Paul Z. Ruter will officiate.
