Obituary of Richard C. Miller

Richard "Rich" C. Miller, of Monticello, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017. He was 81. He was the son of the late Harry C. Miller and Dorothy V. Koeniger, born on November 17, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Richard proudly served our country in the US Airforce from 1953 – 1957. Rich worked as a truck driver, driving cross country for many years and loved every day of it. The highlights of his journeys were when he was able to bring one of his children for a short run in the truck. He loved watching his old John Wayne movies and other westerns. He was also a member of the Conerstone Community Church, formerly Grooville Free Methodist. In his final years, he lived with Billy as they supported each other. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his children: Susan L. Herrmann of Holland MI, William Miller of Monticello, NY and Cheryl Tcimpidis of Livingston Manor, NY; grandchildren: Valerie, Zachary, Christopher, and Juliette Tcimpidis, Merrick and Rowan Throm, Maggie and Abby Herrmann and Anna Ackerman; and one great grandchild, Gwyneth Good. In memory of Rich we would like everyone to wear their favorite flannel shirt and blue jeans. As we all know he didn't like to dress up and he could be seen wearing his flannels as soon as the temperatures allowed. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 10 to 11am at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the funeral home. Rev. Mark A Kiburz will officiate. Burial will take place following the funeral service at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
