Obituary of Alexander Norwood
"Live life so completely that when death comes to you like a thief in the night, there will be nothing left for him to steal." After living a life filled with immense love, family, music and laughter, Alexander "Syce" Norwood, age 33, of Monticello, NY left this Earth on August 31, 2017 with family and friends at his side.
Alex was born at Catskill Regional Hospital to James and Gail Norwood on September 19, 1983. He was a musical genius, a passionate soul, an adventure seeker and a friend to so many. Alex's memory will be kept alive by countless people who loved and respected him, none as strongly as his children, Alexandria and Jacob, the love of his life - his fiancée, Melody Trinidad, his sisters, Holli and Heather and nieces Juli and Chelsea, his brother, Jameson and niece Kiara, his Aunt Vilma and her children, his Aunt Theresa and her children, his stepdaughters Julissa and Ariel, his life-long friend Steven and his brothers from Truluv Entertainment. Alex joins his mother Gail, father James and Uncle Darryl in the afterlife where they will surely look upon us with hippie melodies and hip hop beats playing in the background and know that they were loved deeply by those who were left behind.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10a-12p at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 at the funeral home officiated by Reverend James Egbert. Burial to follow at Woodbourne Cemetery, reception to be announced.
