Obituary of Ronald James
Ronald "Ronnie" James was born on March 9, 1957 in Monticello, New York to the late Melvin and Christine James. He departed this life on Sunday, August 27, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Ronnie's formative years were spent in Monticello, NY and he graduated from Rondout Valley High School. As a young adult he lived in Florida and eventually settled in Woodbridge, VA where he expanded his career as an independent contractor. Ronnie was passionate and had an entrepreneurial spirit, which led to the creation of his business, R&D Custom Construction Company. He had a natural gift of working with his hands to develop projects and there was nothing that he could not build.
Ronnie met Gloria Spears, his favorite girl, in 1989 and the two of them wed and to their union yielded a daughter, Kourtney James, in 1996. Ronnie displayed unconditional love for his wife, daughter and many others. He will be remembered for the love that he showed for his nieces and nephews, his green thumb for plants, the joyous memories of nature and summer camping and beach trips. Ronnie had a lifelong, genuine passion for riding his Street Glide, Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Ron loved and appreciated all of the brothers from the Harley Davidson Family! The brotherhood was truly his family and helped him through difficult times. Thank you brothers for your love and support.
Ronnie was proceeded in death by his parents, Melvin and Christine James.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife, Gloria Spears of Woodbridge, VA; his daughter, Kourtney James of Woodbridge, VA; four brothers, Lamar (Cheryl) of Monticello, NY, Steven of Ellenville, NY, Tony of Lumberton, NC and Pete Mei (Ida) of Daytona, FL; three sisters, Sandra of Manhattan, NY, Rose Marie of Gaston, NC and Renee (Harvey) of Waldorf, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
