Obituary of George Perrello, Sr.
George Perrello Sr., of Woodbourne entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, August 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving children. He was 83.
He was the son of the late Biagio and Loretta Remini Perrello, born on September 23, 1933 in New York, NY.
George was a long shore man that worked on Pier 42 for over 37 years. In 1973, he and his wife Nettie decided to move their family upstate and they became the proud owners and operators of Lazy “G” Campground in Woodridge, NY for 33 years. This was a place where families would visit year after year and called it their “second home.” George was known to many as “Big G” and he loved the day to day operation of the campground. He was a dedicated member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception along with the Fallsburg and Loch Sheldrake Senior Citizens. He enjoyed traveling, going to the Racino, playing cards and most importantly spending time with his family. He was a hardworking man that would give the shirt off his back for someone in need. His kind spirit and loving personality will be deeply missed. He lost his courageous battle, but will always be remembered for his strong will and determination that he portrayed every day.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving children Joseph Perrello Sr. and his wife Karen of Fallsburg, George Perrello Jr. and his wife Donna of White Lake, Anthony Perrello and his wife Maureen of Woodbourne, and Lori Lindridge and her husband Ronnie of Woodbourne, eight grandchildren Jennifer Parisi, Nicole Schwartz, Karen Perrello-Hilliard, Joseph, Krystal, Anthony, George, and Nicholas Perrello, five great-grandchildren Kayle and Lucas Parisi, Aubre and Isla Schwartz and Sariah Hilliard, brother-in-laws William and Jack Guarino of Florida, Joseph Guarino of Long Island and Ralph Guarino, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
