Obituary of Richard Henry Biggs
Richard Henry Biggs, Sr. of Youngsville, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at home. He was 84.
He was the son of the late Wilber Biggs and Ethel Hopper, born on May 23, 1933 in Patterson, NJ.
Richard proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked in research and development first for Nabisco and then finally for Kraft Foods, Inc. in New Jersey. In his free time he enjoyed carpentry, jigsaw puzzles and yard work. He also enjoyed painting, his family currently have his paintings to enjoy and remember him by for years to come. He was also a member of the American Legion post New Jersey. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law and friend to all who knew him, he will be deeply missed.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, whom he married on December 27, 1953, Dorothy M. Biggs; daughter Dianne Perez Caraballo and her husband Jesus "Chewy"; daughter-in-law Yong Biggs; grandchildren: Adem Arifaj, Syzane Arifaj and her husband Jason Nottle, Justin and Anton Arifaj, Richard H. Biggs III, Shawn and Charlene Elliott; three great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Peterson and her husband Albert; special sister-in-law Adeline Biggs; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his children: Richard H. Biggs, Jr. and Donna Cortez; and siblings Gordon F., Edward A. and Douglas Biggs and Dorothy DeWilde.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
