Obituary of Marc Guice

It is with great sadness that we lose one of the shining stars in the realm of our family. Marc Guice passed from this Earth Saturday morning at Orange Regional Medical Center. Marc will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched. He was born on December 13, 1961 in Westchester, NY. Many of us met Marc early in 2004 when he joined the Crystal Run Village family. His personality spanned the gaps between many different agencies including Orange ARC and brought a diverse group of people together. Marc cherished his friendships and made each individual friend feel like the most important person to him. He had a winning smile and engaging personality that would lift one's spirits and brighten the day. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing those he was close to. Those of us who remain will always remember how tenacious he was when he got an idea in his head and how happy he'd be to see people learning ASL, his tendency to carry around notebooks and bring everyone's attention to things that were important to him. Marc loved getting out and about into the community and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and truly liked seeing the "old people". He enjoyed all of his friendships and spending time with those important to him. Marc often attended the Deaf Club in Newburgh with the Center for Independent Living. He loved to work and make money and in turn use it for his favorite things which included going out to eat for Chinese food and other restaurants. Marc loved to be around people and all whom he touched in this life are the better for it. Marc leaves behind so many friends and associates with whom he shared his life that it would be near to impossible to list them all, but especially his girlfriend Rita with whom he had a long standing relationship. Marc will be missed and remembered by a great many people. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11am on Friday, July 28th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will follow. Rev. Charles McComb will officiate.
