Obituary of Nancy R. Gamble

On this day Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3:00p.m., we lay to rest Nancy Gamble, age 77, of South Fallsburg, NY. She went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 17, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family at Catskill Regional Medical Center.

Nancy Gamble was a loving wife, mother and sister. She was born in Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina to loving parents Rebecca Frazier Mitchell and Daniel Mitchell whom preceded her in death. In addition, her siblings include Harry Singleton, Allie Mae Kitchen, Leroy "Rocky" Mitchell, Thelma Potter, Charlie Cleveland Mitchell, Joseph Mitchell, Edward Mitchell, William Mitchell, Rebecca Mitchell-Mack, Jesse Mitchell, Agnes Cohen Mitchell and Teddy Simmons, in which she loved and helped care for as they grew up. She met, and fell in love with Henry Gamble. They were married on September 16, 1962, and have been married for 54 years. Together, they have three children, Brenda Holmes (53, Conyers, GA), Gerald Gamble (deceased), and Luvita Mitchell (39, South Fallsburg, NY). She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Shaneka Holmes Dicks, Teirra Holmes, Shaquita Holmes, Owenda Holmes, Owen Holmes Jr., Tyreeq Mitchell and Janae Mclean and one grandchild Giovanni Harris.

Nancy retired from Newburgh Egg in Woodridge, NY where she was a supervisor for 30+ years. Above all she had a plethora of wisdom, in which she didn't hold back on her honest and sincere thoughts that were always given with love. She loved spending time with her family and friends, while discussing memories of us all. Today we not only remember, but honor the beautiful person which is Nancy Gamble.

We would like to thank the staff at Achieve Nursing Home and Catskill Regional Medical Center for all the care and support they have provided. In addition, Colonial Bryant Funeral and First Baptist South Fallsburg for their support for the family. Lastly, friends and relatives that have been here for us during this time. Thank you all.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 4-6:00pm.  There will be a funeral service at the First Baptist Church of South Fallsburg on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3:00pm.
