Obituary of Florence Sarah Silverman

Florence Sarah Silverman, of Mongaup Valley, passed away on Sunday, July 02, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Clara Ziegler, born on January 3, 1929.

Florence owned a poultry and vegetable farm as well as the proprietor of the Red Barn Farm Antique and Country Kitchen, she was well known and loved by her kitchen customers who also became her close friends. She was a member of the Eastern Star as well as a member of the Monticello School board for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children: Joan Lieberman, Laurie Price and her husband Richard, Stuart Silverman and his wife Vivian and Steven Silverman and his wife Jean; seven grandchildren: Sean Silverman, Alison Baumgarten, Alexandra Cooley, Samantha Lieberman, Mandi Bromberg, Haley and Kara Silverman; and five great-grandchildren: Sedona and Bryce Bromberg, Ansleigh Silverman and Victoria and Theodore Baumgarten. She is predeceased by her husband David Silverman whom she was happily married to for 69 years.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Florence's memory can be made to the SPCA of Sullivan County, 104 Rock Hill Dr, Rock Hill, NY 12775.

Services will be held from 1 to 2pm on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the family homestead, 353 Airport Rd. Mongaup Valley, NY. Cantor Devorah Gartner will officiate.
