Obituary of Sandra DeFreitas

Sandra DeFreitas (Sandy), 61 years of age of Livingston Manor, NY, passed away on June 28th 2017 at Lee Memorial hospital in Fort Myers, FL after a protracted battle with lung cancer.

 

Sandy was born on October 25, 1956 daughter of John W Neer Jr who predeceased her and survived by Kathryn Neer. She was the youngest of 4 children: preceded in death by John W. Neer III, and survived by Nancy McArthur and Tommy Neer. Sandy attended Livingston Manor.

 

Sandy married Ron DeFreitas Sr in 1972 who she spent 45 wonderful years with. They have one son Ron DeFreitas Jr, 40 years of age who was the most important part of their life. The family moved to Fort Myers, FL where they later became owners of a small business Bowler Plumbing which they sold in 2012 and retired in Trinidad and Tobago. Sandy's biggest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends. She was always full of love and genuinely would give you the shirt of her back even if you didn't ask her for it. Sandy was a strong and remained an iron-willed women even throughout her final months.

 

Sandy is survived by her husband, mother, son, brother, sister, as well as her grandkids, Victor Gray and Lilliona Defreitas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, July 8th at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. Interment to follow at Orchard Street Cemetery. A celebration of Sandy's life will follow.
