Obituary of Marguerite M Turner

Marguerite "Peggy" Turner, of Woodbourne, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Mt. Sinai Hospital. She was 67. She was born December 29, 1949 in Malone, NY to Rufus Morse and Hazel Patnode. Peggy was a proud graduate of Lyon Mt. High School after which she went to work as a secretary for a law firm in Plattsburgh, NY. She then went on to work for Clinton Correctional Facility and retired after 20 years of service from Tri-Valley Central School. She married the love of her life Dewayne Turner on October 26, 1982 and together they grew their family residing in the area since 1987. In her free time she volunteered at the Sullivan County Pregnancy Center, Vacation Bible School and various other places. She was an avid quilter, crafter and gardener. Peggy was also a member of the Vine and Branch Church in Liberty and participated in the music ministry and numerous cantatas. Peggy was also very involved in donating her time to the food pantry associated with her church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. She leaves behind her devoted husband Dewayne Turner at home; two children Heidi Morrionne and her husband Greg of Mahopac, NY and Cory Turner and his wife Allison of Woodbourne; three grandsons and four granddaughters; as well as her siblings Janie Shusda and her husband Charnel, Blanch Siskavich and her husband Bernard and Rufus Morse and his wife Joy. A visitation will be held from 7 to 9pm on Wednesday, June 21st at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at 11am at Vine and Branch Church, 2535 State Route 52, Liberty, NY 12754 on Thursday, June 22nd. Pastor Ed Sostak will officiate.
