Obituary of Gloria Shaver

Gloria B. Shaver of Turnwood, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Roscoe Regional Rehab & RHCF. She was 91. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Lena Owens Borden, born on December 28, 1921 in Arena, NY. She was very active in her community throughout her life. She was a member of the Sullivan County Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #298 for over 50 years. She was a former member of the Livingston Manor Volunteer Ambulance C, and former member of the Beaverkill Valley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was the Sullivan County Cooperative Extension and Past Board of Directors. She was the former owner of Beaverkill Valley Inn and manager of the Beaverkill Trout Club in Lew Beach where she later retired from. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her sons Zane Shaver, one daughter-in-law Betty Shaver, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edwin D. Shaver one Gary D. Shaver, one grandson Kevin Shaver, one brother Franklin R. Borden and one daughter-in-law Carolyn Shaver. Visitation will be on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street Livingston Manor, NY 12758. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at the funeral home on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 1:00pm followed by a funeral service. Interment will follow at Lew Beach Cemetery, Lew Beach, NY.
