Obituary of Anna Bednarik

Anna Bednarik of Mountaindale passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Achieve Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 80. The daughter of the late Leopold and Julia (Balogh) Vojkovic, she was born on November 23, 1932 in Stupava, Slovakia. Anna was a member of the Slovak Country Club in Mountaindale and the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Woodbourne. She is survived by her loving children: Yvette Rose and her husband, Joseph of Greenfield Park, NY, and Maria Palo of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren: Stefan Palo and his wife, Sheri of Merritt Island, FL; Joseph Palo and his wife, Jessica, and Michael and Daniel Palo, all of East Patchogue, NY; Trish Gold and her husband, Tyler of South Fallsburg, NY; Cathleen, Jennifer, and Stephanie Rose of Greenfield Park, NY; Thomas, Amanda, and Kaitlynne Bednarik of Tucson, AZ; great-grandchildren: Shawn, Scott, Steven, and Skyler Palo of Merritt Island, FL. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Jozef Bednarik on July 27, 2008; her son-in-law, Stefan Palo on August 6, 2008; her son, Joseph on August 30, 2011; and her daughter, Vlasti (Jane) Zelinka on April 4, 2013. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 6317 State Route 42, Woodbourne, NY. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville, NY. Donations in Anna's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
