Obituary of David Tartakoff

David Tartakoff, of W. Palm Beach, formerly of Ellenville, passed away on March 2, 2017 at 62 years old. He was born on May 7, 1954 at Ellenville Hospital. David was a graduate of Ellenville High School and Sullivan County Community College. He worked in air pollution control for several years and as a medical assistant. However, David was really a free spirit. His best times were spent windsurfing in Florida, Oregon and Hawaii. When this lifestyle became too physically demanding, David began hand restoration of classic sports cars and motorcycles, such as Porsche speedster, Triumph, TR6 and Corvette stingrays. His cars were often displayed at car shows and July 4th parades. We will miss his kind heartedness, his willingness to help others and love of his family. David was predeceased by his father, Maurice Tartakoff. He is survived by his mother, Sipporah Tartakoff; his two brothers, Robert (Ellen) and Raymond; his Aunt Esther; Cousin Nancy; and nephews, Daniel (Karen) and Joseph; and new grandnephew, Eli. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, March 5th at Congregation Ezrath Israel, 34 Center St., Ellenville, NY 12428. Burial will follow at Ezrath Israel Cemetery.
