When I think of "Ma", I think of family. She was always surrounded by so many people, in her home, in her kitchen. Kids happy every where! She loved her family, nothing was more important and she certainly took great care of all of them.
Food was also a very important part of life at Ma's house. There was always something good cooking! Christmas was amazing...the 7 fishes, the octopus she made so delicious. I always felt so welcome, felt like part of the family, never felt like a guest. I was taught how to be Italian, how to cook good food, and better than that, how to eat it right, covered with red pepper!!
I'm going to miss Ma. Her face was always bright, friendly, welcoming, happy to see me, and anyone else that stopped by. Rest in peace Ma. You did a great job! You are loved by so many and you loved so many. Thanks for making me a part of your family. You left us with so many happy memories that there will always be smiles from thoughts of you.
