Obituary of Paul Gallivan
With great sorrow, we inform family and friends that on March 17, 2013, Paul K. Gallivan, age 70, passed away and can now join hands with Joan, his adoring wife. Paul deeply missed Joan, who predeceased him in 2008, and is finally back in her loving arms. The son of John T. Gallivan and Thelma Gallivan nee Ronk, Paul was born on June 27, 1942 in Newburgh. He graduated from Washingtonville High School in 1959. Paul retired from Iron Workers Local #417. He also was a Mortgage Broker for HSBC Bank. While in Salisbury Mills, Paul was active in the community as a little league coach, Washingtonville school board member, Salisbury Mills firefighter, Knights of Columbus charter member and parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Paul loved spending summers at Wanaksink Lake with his family boating, swimming, playing golf, and enjoying progressive dinners with friends. He and Joan made their permanent residence at the lake in 1998. Paul is survived by his and Joan's three daughters and their families: Cheryl, Mike, Andrew and Jake Keller of Geneseo, Michelle, Pete, Peter and Mareena DiMilia of Claryville, Jennifer, Jim, Chris and Katy AuClair of Phoenix, NY; his loving sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Dr. Thomas Ebersole of Sinking Springs, PA; six nieces and two nephews. The memories he leaves behind will live in our hearts forever. Visiting will be held on Friday, March 22nd from 7 to 9 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Bullville, NY, 2800 State Route 17K on Saturday, March 23rd at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville, NY.
