Obituary of Joan Allison

Joan M. Allison of Woodbourne passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was 72. She was the daughter of the late Clarence M. and Pearl M. Burton Roosa, born on July 30, 1940 in Monticello, NY. Joan was a registered nurse for Loomis Hospital and Walnut Mountain Nursing Home. She was a proprietor of Allison Farm and she did the census for Tri-Valley School District for the past fifteen years, until she passed away. She was a member of the Concerned Citizens of Hasbrouck. She liked local history and news. She was the widow of Myron "Mike" Allison, who passed away in 2003. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving son, Jon Allison and his wife, Christine; three grandchildren: Kacie, Jacob and David Allison, all of Woodbourne, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Visitation will be on Friday, March 29th, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be on Saturday, March 30th, at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Rev. Roy Shaffer will officiate. Interment will follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
