Obituary of Lawrence Andrew Jersey
Lawrence A. Jersey Sr."Larry" of Lady Lake, Florida formerly Livingston Manor, passes away on April 15, 2015 at The Villages Regional Hospital. He was 94.
He was the son of the late Andrew and Gertrude Conklin Jersey, born on March 13, 1921 in Livingston Manor.
He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army during WWII. Larry was the owner and operator of Larry's Taxi for 51 years. He was active member of the American Legion VFW and a lifetime member of the Hoos Truck Fire Department. He loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years Shirley Jersey, his sons Larry Jersey Jr. and his wife Sharon of Livingston Manor, Arthur Jersey of Florida, one step daughter Mary Lum and her husband Thomas of Ferndale, NY., one brother David Jersey of Livingston Manor, 10 grandchildren, his canine companion and his buddy Jenny, and a host of friends. He is predeceased by his brother Alfred Jersey, his daughter-in-law Cathy Jersey, and one step daughter Judy L. Simpson.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758 from 11:00am-1:00pm. A Firematic service will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Beaverkill Cemetery, Livingston Manor with full military honors.
