Obituary of William Koehler

William "Billy" Koehler of Liberty passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 54. Billy was born on May, 19, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY., the youngest of five children of the late May and Jim Koehler. The family moved to Jackson, NJ where he attended high school. He was a warm and loving person with a wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan and loved above all professional wrestling. When his parents moved to Sullivan County he became employed by Sullivan ARC. Upon their deaths he moved into a group home where he spent many happy and productive years nurtured by caring staff members. Billy worked at Sullivan Industries at Sullivan ARC from 1988 until recently when his health started to go downhill. Billy always had a smile for everyone. He will be missed deeply by his extended family at Sullivan ARC. He is survived by two sisters Marianne Taylor and her Husband Jim, and Patricia Owen as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mary (May) Sherlock Koehler and James Patrick Koehler, his brothers, James and Peter Koehler. He loved his family dearly, and we pray they are celebrating a great reunion in heaven. Visitation will be on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 12-2:00pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 1:30pm.
