Obituary of Judith M. Leire

Judith Leire of the Bronx passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on October 28, 2014. She was 65. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eleanor Strauss Leire, born on October 19, 1949 in the Bronx, NY. Judith was a ceramicist she loved clay, gardening, reading and people. However she was passionate about traveling. She had an innate sense of beauty which was manifested in everything she did. She was a loving person that was always willing to lend a helping hand, she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her partner Frances Higgins, her cousin Cathy and Brian Kelleher and their two daughters; Meghan and Caren Kelleher. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., today, Thursday, October 30th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 31st at the funeral home with Father Ed Bader officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of her friends and family for their continuous support during such a difficult time.
