Obituary of SSGT John Anthony Gassler

Staff Sergeant John Anthony Gassler Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 25, 2013 in Virginia. He was 36. He was born February 25, 1977 in Bronx, NY. He is survived by his loving wife Holly Gassler and his two children Aryanna & David. John graduated from Washingtonville High School and continued his studies at Mount Saint Mary's College, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations. John later joined the United States Air Force where he was a Staff Sergeant who proudly served our country for the past 17 years. He was currently stationed at Stewart International Air Force Base. He was presently a Program Analyst for a Defense Contractor RMC Inc. His two children were his pride and joy. In his spare time John enjoyed hunting and fishing but he loved to spend time with his family the most. He will be deeply missed by his family; and friends. John is also survived by his parents Diana M Clemente and John A Gassler Sr; his siblings Mark and his wife Christie; his sister Sabrina Roe and her husband James; his mother and father in law Karen and Lewis Kleingardner; his sister in law Laura Kleingardner; his brother in law Jeffrey kleingardner and his fiance Melissa; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street Livingston Manor, NY 12758 from 11:00am - 2:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00pm. Chaplin John Torres and Rev. Joshua Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
