Obituary of Mira Coopersmith-Anderson

Mira Randy Coopersmith Anderson, 64, a lifelong resident of South Fallsburg passed away at home on December 25, 2013 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mira was born on July 11, 1949 in Monticello, NY to Joseph and Anita Coopersmith. She graduated Fallsburg High School and recently retired from the Town of Fallsburg as court clerk after 32 years. Mira was a charter member of the Fallsburg Ambulance and the only riding member when disbanded. She was on the board of trustees of the Fallsburg Library and fire commissioner for the Fallsburg Fire District. Mira was also a committee member of the Fallsburg Democratic Party for over 30 years. Mira is survived by her mother, Anita Coopersmith of South Fallsburg. A daughter, Brooke Schwarz and her husband Daniel of New Paltz. Three brothers and their wives: Arthur and Michelle of South Fallsburg, Hal and Sosie of Monroe, and Bart and Diane of New City. She is also survived by three grandchildren Arianna Frunzi, Jacob and Emma Schwarz. She also had several nieces and nephews as well as a great niece and great nephew. Mira also leaves behind many good friends. Services will be held today Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:30AM at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, Woodbourne, NY. Burial will follow in the South Fallsburg Hebrew Association Cemetery, Marsh Road, Glen Wild, NY. Memorial contributions in Mira's name may be made to the Fallsburg Fire District P.O.Box 1075 So.
