Obituary of James W. Rennison
James W. Rennison passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Mr. Rennison was the son of the late James and Ruby Briggs Rennison, born in Liberty, NY on April 18, 1939; he was 74 years old. In 1957 he joined the Marine Corps and while servicing he met his wife Claire Villepeuve Rennison. Upon his discharge from the service he went to work for the Department of Corrections where he worked at Sing Sing Prison then came to work at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in which he was the firearms instructor and original member of the Woodbourne C.E.R.T. team. He moved his family to Grahamsville in 1966 and joined the Boy Scouts of America in 1972 and later became Scout Master from 1974-1984. He was a member of the Rod and Gun Club of Grahamsville, the Wawarsing Gun Club and the Beaver Dam Club. Jim?s most recent endeavor was being in charge of the Grahamsville Transfer Station; in which he ran with passion and an ?"IRON FIST"? from 2000 thru the present. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his devoted wife Claire Rennison, his two loving sons James Rennison and his wife Melissa, and Michael Rennison and his wife Priscilla, three grandchildren James ?"Jay"? Rennison, Brittany Rennison and Shane Rennison, his sisters Janice DePace and her husband Tom, Linda Evorn and Karilee Dahl, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Visitation will be Today, Wednesday May 29, 2013 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12758 from 2-4:00pm & 7-9:00pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00am at the Church of the Immaculate Conception 6317 State Route 42 Woodbourne, NY 12788 Father Lynch will officiate. Interment will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations in James?s name can be made to the Grahamsville Reformed Church State Route 55 Grahamsville, NY 12740 or The Grahamsville Methodist Church 356 Main Street, PO Box 86 Grahamsville, NY 12740.
