Obituary of Martin Michael Streimer

Martin M. Streimer of Liberty passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Sullivan County Adult Care Center. He was 77. He was the son of the late Charles and Mae Schneyer Streimer, born on June 24, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY. Martin proudly served our county in the United States Army from 1957-1959. He, then, worked as a New York City bus driver for 27 years . He loved the outdoors, camping, fourwheeling, and snowmobiling so, after retiring, he moved to the county where he built a home for his family. Upon moving to Sullivan County, he worked for 17 years as a bus driver for the Monticello School District. On his free time he loved to relax and most importantly, he loved to spend time with his son and grandchildren. He will truly be missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years Patricia 'Pat' Streimer, one son Charles Streimer and his wife Fiona, his grandchildren Keegan and Anna Streimer, his brother William 'Billy' Streimer and many nieces, nephews and friends. There will be memorial visitation on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 11:00am-1:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1:00pm with Rev. Bridgett LaConey officiating. Burial will follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
