Obituary of Claude R. Davis
Claude R. Davis of Livingston Manor passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 in Haines City Florida. He was 76.
He was the son of the late Claude A. and Mary Arletta Rogers Davis, born on February 8, 1937 in Parkston, NY.
Claude proudly served our county in the United States Army from 1960 to 1966. He was a truck driver that worked for S&W Ice Cream which he later retired from. Claude always like sports, he was a softball umpire for the Monticello and liberty Leagues. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years Joan Davis, his children Claude E. Davis and his wife Mary, Michael Davis and his wife Karen of Jeffersonville, Lyle Davis and his wife Mollie and Charlene Cummings and her husband Duane of TX., 13 grandchildren, Claude W., Victoria, Nicole, Kristina, Tyler, Jared, Cythia, Carley, and Ryan Davis, Zach, and Kya Anderson, and Scott and Brian Cummings, his siblings Brian Davis, Joan VonHardenburg and her husband Paul, Janice Eleazer and her husband Robert, Howard Davis, Martin Davis, Norma Cruz and her husband Frank, Ed Davis and his wife Shirlee, Arletta Axelrand and her husband Ziggy, and Adele DiMartino and her husband Sal, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was predeceased by one brother Robert "Bobby" Davis.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street Livingston Manor, NY 12758 from 6-9:00pm. A funeral service will be on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the funeral home at 10:00am. Rev. Bridgett LeConey will officiate. Interment will follow at Orchard Street Cemetery will full military honors.
