Obituary of James Benjamin Wilson

James Benjamin Wilson "Jimmy", a resident of South Fallsburgh, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2014. The beloved oldest son, born to Harold and Lillian Wilson on August 10, 1928, was a lifelong resident of the Town of Fallsburgh and a graduate Fallsburg High School where he was remembered as a star basketball player and a congenial and popular member of the student body. He served in the U.S. Army and returned to his home town to work as a master plumber until his retirement. The third oldest in a family of ten, James was predeceased by his brother, Richie. James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Charlotte; one son, Tom (Laurie) Wilson; two daughters, Wendy (Brian) Fascia, and Jami Schad; ten grandchildren: Ryan, Justin, and Taylor Shiffman, Brandon and Jordan Fascia, Jimmy and Sean Wilson, and Cory, Casey, and Christopher Schad; two brothers, John (Dotty) Wilson, Butch (Jan) Wilson; six sisters: Argie, Bobby (Willis), Dotty, Georgia (Con), Ginger (Gerry), Diane (Andrew); 12 nieces; 12 nephews and many great nieces/nephews. James was a popular member of his community and highly respected by all the construction industry employees with whom he worked and assisted. He will be remembered for his wonderful outlook on life and devotion he had to his family as well as the pride he had in his children and the many friends he made throughout his life. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 14th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A celebration of his life will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
