Obituary of Frederick J. DeVoe

Frederick J. DeVoe Jr. of South Fallsburg, NY passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at home with his loving family by his side after a long battle with cancer. He was 60. He was the son of the late Frederick and Winifred Dyer DeVoe, born on November 16, 1953 in Astoria, Queens. Fred was a loyal employee of I. Zarkin of South Fallsburg for over 25 years. They weren't just his employers they were his friends. He was a friend to all that knew and loved him, he will be deeply missed. A family statement reads "Today my guardian angel and best friend, my companion went to meet his heavenly father." Fred is survived by his companion of 16 years, Lillian Barbarick, her extended family six heart daughters, Latesha Wertz, Heather O`Dell, Diana Dunn, Yvonne Brooks, Victoria O`Dell, Pamala Wertz, one son, Kenneth Wertz Jr. plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also survived by his cousins, Annie Ratner and her husband, Richard and Margret Duirdone. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Winifred, one heart daughter, Wanda Turner. Services were handled privately at the convenience of the family.
