Obituary of Helen F. Costa :Grandma Helen

Helen F. Costa of Middletown passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Orange Regional Medical Center at the age of 80. She was the daughter of the late John and Evelyn Cain Madden born on July 29, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. Helen was an operator for the Pines Hotel for many years. She was an active member of the Christian Faith Fellowship Family Church in Middletown. She had a heart of gold and was always ready to lend a helping hand. If you knew her you knew her famous saying was "I'm not old I'm vintage". Her generosity, humor and warm smile will truly be missed. She will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of her family and dear friends. She is survived by her three sons: Larry Costa of Middletown, John Costa and his wife, Eileen, and Joe Costa and his wife, Debbie, and one daughter, Victoria Costa, all of Woodbourne; her grandchildren: Allison Costa of Middletown, Erica and Lisa Costa of Woodbourne, Joseph L. Costa of Maybrook, and Kevin Schaub of Newburgh; her siblings: Evelyn Spahmer of Arizona and Daniel Madden and his wife, JoAnne of Neversink; her extended family and friends of Christian Faith Fellowship Family Church and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Joseph Costa in 2004; granddaughter, Stephanie Costa, and brother-in-law, John Costa. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11th, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship Family Church, 510 M and M Rd., Middletown, NY 10940; followed by a funeral service at the church at 6 p.m. Pastor Bryant Vasquez will officiate. At the family's request in lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's name can be made to the Christian Faith Fellowship Family Church - Family Recreation Center, 510 M and M Rd., Middletown, NY 10940.
