Obituary of Steven G. Kern

Steven Kern of Woodbourne passed away unexpectedly on June 20, 2013 at home. He was 61. He was the son of the Olga Schnauthiel Kern and the late Carl M. Kern, born on July 18, 1951 in Queens, New York. Steve was a devoted father to his beloved daughter, Kristi. She was clearly daddy?s little girl. He was extremely proud of all of her accomplishments. Steve was a partner in Yits Auto Body in Fallsburg for many years. Most recently he worked part time as a manager at Sam?s Towing in Liberty. He enjoyed NASCAR and books about any type of car. He was also a big fan of the music from the Woodstock Era. Steve had a great sense of humor and enjoyed entertaining friends. He will be deeply missed by his friends but especially his family. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughter Kristi Kern of Jefferesonville and her boyfriend Brandon Rubik, his mother Olga Kern of Chesapeake, VA., brother Gary Kern and his wife Jeanne of Neversink, Carl Kern and his wife Nancy of Unadilla NY, his former wife Nancy Kern Jordan of Jeffersonville and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4:00 & 7-9:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the funeral home at 11:00am with Rev. Ninon Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville, NY. Donations in Steven?s name can be made to the charity of one?s own choice.
