Obituary of Andrew Floyd Taggart

Andrew Floyd Taggart, 83, a retired contractor and lifetime area resident passed away May 2, 2014 in Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and Residential Care Center. Andy was born May 7, 1930 to Andrew and Ida (Avery) Taggart. Andy proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In December 1953 Andy married Shirley Green. He was a member of the local VFW and American Legion Chapters. He was involved with the Livingston Manor Little League for more than a decade. Andy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, but more than anything he enjoyed his Family. Whether he was cheering for his kids' teams or cooking hot dogs for the Booster Club, you were sure to see him at all the events. Andy is survived by his Daughter, Teresa LaPointe and her husband Vic of Unadilla; 4 Sons, Andrew Jr., and wife Valerie, Willard and wife Kim, Gary and wife Claire all of Livingston Manor, John and wife Barbara of Virginia; Brothers, George Taggart and companion Linda, Jim Taggart and wife Kathy; Sisters, Lenora Magie and Husband Walter, and Agnes Rupp; He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren; Tracy Dolan and husband Jaime, Victor LaPointe III and wife Kristen, Lisa Tennant and husband Andrew, Jessie LaPointe, Jennifer Miller and husband Chris, Andrew Ryan Taggart and fiancee Ashley, Joshua Ross and wife Sinta, Ashley Bowers and husband Justin, Justin Taggart and fiancee Wyna, Jessica Taggart, Amanda Taggart, Trever Taggart, Evan Taggart. Great-grandchildren, Kirkland, Andrew, and Riley Dolan, Sophia Rose LaPointe, Grace Tennant, Brady and Landon Bowers. Andy was predeceased by Shirley, his wife of 59 years, son David, brothers Stanley, Bob, Bill and Frank. The family would like to thank the staff of the Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and Residential Healthcare Facility for their excellent and compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7 from 4 to 6 at Herbert C Bryant Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at 5 pm Fr. Ed Bader officiating, followed by a Military service. Cremation will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Andy and Shirley's ashes will be laid to rest at a family plot in Bon Aire Cemetery, Roscoe NY. In lieu of flowers or contributions, we would like you to honor our Dad's memory by spending time with your friends and loved ones.
