Obituary of Josephine Mosier

Josephine Mosier of Livingston Manor, formerly of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013, peacefully, with her loving niece by her side. She was 89. She was the daughter of the late Silas and Rose Ruff Lacey, born on April 1, 1924 in Colchester, NY. Josephine worked for Ballston Spa Public Library for over 20 years until her retirement. She was an avid bowler and sea shell collector who would later use them for crafts. She enjoyed painting and traveling with her late husband, Hilton. Along her travels she would collect salt and pepper shakers. Towards the end of her travels she had thousands of shakers from all around the world. She liked to arrange and grow flowers. On her free time she enjoyed country dancing and spending time with her family. She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Isabel Ackerley, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by her devoted husband, Hilton Mosier; her siblings: Alice Hakes, George, Silas, Winfield, Hugh, and John Lacey, Elsie Rose, Elizabeth Noyes-Schmerhorn and Mary Jones. There will be a Graveside Service at Paige Cemetery, Colchester, NY on Thursday, July 11th, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Dale Ashby will officiate.
